3 Cities, 3 Awards

September 2020 was an award-winning month for us.

It started of with Handelsblatt’s WECONOMY award, where we pitched in Berlin and were selected as one of the 10 winners. WECONOMY offers a great network of top-level industry experts and strong coaching.

Just a week later, we pitched as one of the top 5 finalists for this year’s Science4Life Business Plan Venture Cup in Wiesbaden. Science4Life is one of Germany’s largest life science competitions. This year, 86 life science companies handed in their business plans - and after a very tight race with our friends from Prime Vector Technologies (who develop a novel Covid-19 vaccine) - YURI was announced as the overall winner! Besides the cash prize, we are extremely happy that we won a life science competition as a space company. This is a strong signal that microgravity research can leave the niche of space and enter commercial life science markets.

And if that wasn’t enough, again another week later, we were announced as the winners of this year’s CyberOne Award Baden-Württemberg. Again, in the life science category. Lukas and Frederik from our team joined the live event in Karlsruhe and took this epic shot with the minister of economic affairs, Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut.
